Early Life and Passion for Filmmaking:
Parker was born on 31 August 1989, in the small town of Utah, United States. His mom says, since he was born, he was always a calm boy. Even though he was just an infant, he seemed very focused. He was always focused & work driven in all things he used to do.
Parker always loved playing sports. He began with playing soccer & later started playing Baseball & Basket ball as well. His brother bought him to play football because he thought that Parker was naturally a good athlete. After that he joined his brothers team in football and they won a competition.
Parker was kind of kid, if he wanted something if will get it no matter what, no matter how hard it will be. He completed his early education from the University of Michigan.
Getting Out of Comfort Zone:
When Parker returned home from Michigan, his wallet had been stolen, he had no license, no bank account, no cellphone, no car. But he never give up. He started selling peddling network TV packages in Texas. He never loved that job. He never wanted to sell a product that he's not proud of.
So he decided to try something else. And one day at night, he came across one quote by Steve Jobs that completely shaped his career.
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.
– Steve Jobs
And then Parker did something that everyone can't do. He let go everything he knew, everything he was doing and he chose to follow his passion. So he left the job he hated, and went back to Utah to find something that he would love doing.
Parke realized that growing up, he was always fascinated by the world of filmmaking. He would often spend hours watching movies and analyzing the techniques used by the directors and cinematographers.
Parker immediately went to his friend Tanner Townsend‘s house, open up his cupboard and took his Canon T3i camera. Here said, “Dude I always wanted to have such camera, I wanna make films”. Tanner told him- “There's one YouTuber named DevinSuperTramp“, watch his videos, he makes some stunning adventure and extreme sports videos.
So he went to YouTube and came across this video by DevinSuperTramp. And immediately fell in love with it. He decided that he also wanna make films like that.
Getting His First Camera:
Then Parker made his first investment and bought these gears:
- Used Canon T3i
- TOKINA 11-16mm Camera Lens
- Glidecam HD2000
This passion for filmmaking led him to create his own short films using this simple filmmaking kit, enlisting the help of his friends and family as actors. He shoot his first video in the basement of his friend Tanner.
The first professional video that Parker shot was during one of his college event. Couple months after buying his first camera setup, he was at Paint Dance event at local university. And while dancing with his friends, he noticed that nobody was shooting that event. So he took the chance, grab his camera gears, went on stage and started filming that event. Everyone thought that Parker was professionally hired to film that event.
This was only possible because he was confident and he took the action. Parker always say:
FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT!!
After that event finished, Parker went home, took those footages and started editing. Then he posted that finished video on YouTube. And everyone who was there at that event started that video like crazy.
Everyone loved that video including the Campus administration. They called Parker into their office and offered him a scholarship to shoot the rest of the events just like this one. He was so happy. He took that scholarship and went to the Southern Utah University as a Director of Cinematography.
This one action by Parker gave his career boost & he started getting many clients for multiple filmmaking projects.

And Parker had this mentality that he always wanted to grow constantly. He wanted be an entrepreneur and start his own business. So he took that decision and left Devin Super Tramp.
He left exactly one month after his marriage with his wife Lexi. Because of which he got unemployed exactly after his marriage. But his wife always supported him. He told Lexi –
“Give me 2 to work like no one is willing to work now so we can live like no one can later.”
