He hails from a humble background, with his father being a farmer and his mother a homemaker. Aslam is the youngest of five siblings, with two brothers and two sisters. Growing up, the family faced financial struggles, but that never deterred Aslam from pursuing his passion for kabaddi.
Aslam's financial situation was really poor as he had lost his father in April 2011.
Aslam was introduced to kabaddi at a young age, as it is a popular sport in his village. He would often watch his elder brother (Vasim Inamdar) and other villagers play the sport and was instantly drawn to it. Aslam started playing kabaddi when he was just in a school, and it wasn't long before he realized that he had a natural flair for the sport.
He used to gather his school friends and play kabaddi with them. He started participating in school Kabaddi tournaments. He also joined a local kabaddi team “Only Sai Sports Taklibhan” in his village.
Aslam was really hard working from the beginning. He used to wake up at 5am every day for kabaddi practice. He used to practice every morning & evening regularly. Even if he had no partner for practice, he used to do it alone. That's how dedicated he was.
The Turning Point: Raju Kathore
The turning point in Aslam's life came when he played sub junior tournament for Maharashtra in 2015. There he met his best friend Raju Kathore – The unsung hero of Aslam's success. Raju was the captain of the Maharashtra kabaddi team of that tournament. Raju asked Aslam to come & live at his home in Thane. He let him played in his home team Jai Bajrang, Vashind. Their coach Pundlik Gorle was also impressed by Aslam's performance & dedication. Raju's family supported Aslam like their own family member. And their friendship turned into family bond.
From 2015 to 2018 he played consistently for Jai Bajrang. His gameplay was watched by many professionals.
His performance in the tournament caught the attention of his Physical Education teacher, who saw great potential in him. The teacher encouraged Aslam to take up kabaddi seriously and even helped him get enrolled in a local kabaddi academy.
After that Aslam started his practice for Air India. He used to travel daily from Vashind to Kurla by local train for around 1.5hrs for kabaddi practice. He worked really hard but didn't get selected. But his hard work didn't get unnoticed. His performance was seen by Coach Ashok Shinde sir.

In PKL season 8, finally aslam got chance in starting 7. And he turned that chance in to an opportunity. Aslam's performance was impressive, and he was one of the top performers for the Puneri Paltan team. He scored a total of 115 raid points in the season, which included a super 10 against the Bengaluru Bulls. Aslam's performance in the season helped the Puneri Paltan team reach the playoffs.

PKL season 10 was a breakthrough season for Aslam, as he led the Puneri Paltan team to their first-ever Pro Kabaddi title. His elder brother Vasim Inamdar was good kabaddi player too but due family responsibilities, he left sports & joins Maharashtra Police.
He also has a second family – Family of Raju Kathore. He lived at Raju's home for many years and still lives there. Raju's family gave him so much love. They helped him in his hard time. They helped his like their own child when nobody knew who the Aslam was.
That's why Aslam calls Raju's mother as Aai (mother) and consider Raju & his brothers as his own brothers.
Aslam Inamdar Injury Update:
In season 11 of Pro Kabaddi 2024, Aslam have got injured against match of Telgu Titans. This is really heartbreaking for all the fans of Aslam & Puneri Paltan. He also got rules out of season 11 due to his knee injury. We just hope that he will get recovered soon & rejoins his team.
